Here is the picture of the completed master retreat as promised.  Love it!

Also, here are the baseboards hubby put up in the hallways last night...

I worked on carpet removal today...fun stuff!  I was able to take out all the carpet in the master bedroom and master closet.  I still need to scrape the glue patches, but I vacuumed all around the tack-strips.  As I said, fun stuff!

I also cleaned the kitchen island, more fun stuff!  Note to self...no tile counters when we do the kitchen remodel (not anytime soon).  What a pain to clean!  Especially after not being cleaned for so long.  Started with wet paper towels, then a round of 409 with a rag, then Soft Scrub with bleach and one of those green pads, then another wet rag.  I finally feel like it is somewhat clean now.  I think tomorrow I may need to go over it with the 409 again.  I also wiped the island cabinets inside and out.  No wonder the day went by so fast with all the fun I was having!!

Grandpa flew out today to help this week, so he and hubby started on the tile.  They were able to finish laying the tile in the two main hallways.  It looks beautiful!

Deciding on the layout.

About halfway down the big hallway.

We decided to put the 2 inch tiles in the doorways.  I really like how they turned out!  This is the laundry room doorway.

Hallway to the master bedroom.

Finished!

Tomorrow they are hoping to lay the tile in the linen closet, laundry room, and other hallway.  If they have time they will start grouting these halls, but it is Logan's birthday so we are having a little dinner for him.  No working late!

I plan to have more fun tomorrow...cleaning the family room carpet!  We do plan to remove it, but not until after Memorial Day since alot of the family will be here.  So, we decided to try and get as much of the dust & who knows what else out of it for the time being.  If I am lucky, maybe I will get to scrub some more of the kitchen!  Actually this will be my real fun...

Hubby finally gave the go ahead to get some flowers for the front flower bed.  We wanted to wait until we had the sprinklers set up and then he dug up the bed a bit to get rid of the weeds.  So tomorrow I get to have some flower time!  Yay!!

I realized after I began updating the blog for yesterday and today's work that I am quite behind and need to catch up first.  My excuse...I have been sick and am just now starting to sound and feel better.  So...here is what I have been working on...

Painting the guest room...we decided on Brown buzz, which is actually a shade of green.  We painted this color in the guest room and in the master bedroom.  Love it!  The pictures do not do it justice!

Since these pictures I have also pulled up the carpet.  No picture for that.  Here is Logan "helping" paint the master bedroom.

Perhaps the biggest change...

The boy's room is no longer orange and pink!  It is now a lovely creme.  Ahhh, so much better!

He was so pleased to get to paint his room.

We pulled up the carpet in the master retreat...

We packed up and moved the first load of stuff...

We started filling the back of the suburban with stuff each time we go over to the house.  Yesterday hubby came home from work and spent several minutes staring at our room before asking what I had taken...the two lamps and a flower decoration.

After my mom and grandma left I had to find a new babysitter...thanks Uncle Troy, Auntie Lisa, & Braden for the bubble babysitter!!

OK, now we are up-to-date...on to yesterday and today...

We have begun the "big production" week...Jon took off this coming week and we have a bunch of projects lined up.  Here is the list:

Lay wood floor in the master retreat
Lay tile in the hallways, linen closet, and laundry room
Tear out all carpet
Put up and paint baseboards
Paint Jenna's room
Paint closets
Clean enough to house some of our family for Memorial weekend

Ha!  Think we will get it all done??  Wish us luck!  We already have the first item completed though...so it is a good start.  Last night we laid the wood floor with the help of some friends!

This was as of last night.  You may be wondering why we left such a little area unfinished.  We had bought five boxes of wood and this was using four of them...grrr!  This is the same flooring we have in our other house and we had hoped that we had enough remaining there to finish the last two rows.  Another grrr...we only had three pieces!  That got us one more row...so we had to open the last box for one row!  Oh well.  Now I am thinking to maybe use the remaining wood in the guest room closet...I have big plans for that closet, but I'll save that for another day!  This morning we finished the last few rows, put up the baseboards, and glued on the molding...and I forgot to take a picture!  Tomorrow or Monday I will post one, I promise!

We worked on yard work for the rest of the day...here is the big worker!

For those of you wondering...no it is not real!

Well, no fun yard finds today.  In fact, I spent my yard time trimming one tree/bush, filled an entire green bin, and still need to trim some more.  I didn't even bother with a picture of this one since it did not look that much different one bin later.

On a more productive note...I pulled up the carpet in the hallways and linen closet in preparation for laying tile.  Here is what we are looking like now...

My mom and I also painted the laundry room...tan.  We do plan on having some other colors I promise!

Tomorrow morning we are taking off and having some fun time at the Aquarium!

Yay!!  The main rooms are finally painted!  We decided on a light tan for the walls and a very dark brown for the beams.

Monday morning my mom, grandma, the kids, and I went and bought some tester colors for the bedrooms.  Then when hubby came home from work, we made final decisions and then went and bought them.

Today we (mom, grandma, kids, and me) washed, filled in nail holes, and painted the hallways.  They are the same color as the main portion of the house.  We prepped the laundry for painting Thursday and did some yard work.  Here are the hallways...

Work in the yard is very exciting because we never know what may be hiding under all the weeds!  Here are a couple of our finds this week...

This flower is on a climbing vine on one of our palm trees.  Any ideas as to what it is?  I am planning to keep it and just trim it so that it does not take over the palm.  Very cool looking!

Yes, that is a tomato!  There are tons of the tomato vines, so I am planning to cut them back to a manageable area.

I am planning to go to the house early tomorrow to fill another yard bin...we'll see if I uncover anything else!

Not much to report these days.  The contractor has the inside a total disaster as popcorn is removed and the texture is sprayed.  The wall in the guest room had to be opened up and left to dry due to the old roof leak.  We are hoping for this to be all completed this week so that painting can begin next week.  Here are a few pictures...

Guest room wall.  The two panels are now open and drying.  The windows look good though!  :)
