I am so excited to have finally finished (almost) my latest project. Remember when I said I have become obsessed with wood? Well I found this great coffee table on Craigslist...especially great because it cost me nothing!!
It was in pretty good shape, just missing the glass pieces. I saw a table on one of the blogs I follow that I really liked and wanted to try the technique on this one. So with some effort and several different products I stripped it...
Then I stained the top Classic Gray and dry brushed white primer and black gesso onto it...
I spray painted the bottom portion Heirloom White and distressed it a bit. I haven't sealed it yet and I think I may try to add a little more definition to the distressed areas.
I went back and forth on tile verses glass for the openings...glass won since the tile was too thick. I bought some glass pieces and cut it myself...only one minor injury. :) So here she is at home in the living room. You also get to see my piano, which had been at my mom's house and the couch she gave us from her move.
I have to say, I am rather pleased with how it turned out and I had a lot of fun doing it too!
Love it! Your so crafty and I love seeing all your new things. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Lauren! I'm anxious to see the console table that Jon told me about on the phone, too. =)
